What are your monthly rates and what do they include?
Our monthly rate varies based on room selection and care provided.
Do you offer medication management?
Yes, we offer full medication and treatment management by our certified care team based upon the direction of the resident’s doctor.
Do you have in-house nurses and/or doctors?
No, due to the fact that according the Arizona Bill of Residents Rights residents are allowed to choose their own physicians, we do not have a specific primary care physician in-house for of our residents. There are however a handful of physicians in the community who make “house calls” and we would be happy to help coordinate if requested.
What training has your staff had?
Our Licensed Manager, Terry Hill, is a Certified Dementia Practitioner’. All caregivers have Arizona certification as well as CPR, First aid, fingerprint and TB testing. Additionally, all caregivers train alongside one of our licensed managers prior to providing care individually to ensure that they learn our care standards at Quail Manor.
How long have you been in business?
Our Licensed Manager, Terry Hill, has been in the Healthcare industry for 9 years. Quail Manor Assisted Living has been in business since 2016 and all of our homes were professionally renovated top to bottom in 2017. While our business entity has only been in place since 2016, our licensed managers and caregivers all have many years of experience in the industry. We aim to hire the upper echelon of caregivers available and compensate higher than our competition to ensure we keep the highest quality employees to give the best possible care to your loved one.
Are there any additional fees on top of the monthly fee?
No, but residents are responsible for incontinent items. Additionally, any personal medications including OTC and any specialized items that a resident would not like shared with the other residents are the responsibility of the resident.
Do you accept long term care insurance?
Do you accept residents with special needs?
Yes. Our caregivers are experienced with caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, insulin dependent diabetes, incontinence and catheters, feeding tubes, as well as residents on oxygen. All of our homes are secure and ready to accommodate dementia and Alzheimer patients.
Do you accept ALTCS residents?
No, unfortunately it is extremely difficult for us to provide the level of care we do for the current reimbursement rate ALTCS allows in a group home setting.
Can you provide respite and/or day care?
We provide respite care for $300/day. Do not hesitate to call; we would be happy to discuss your specific needs.
What types of meals do you serve?
We cater our meals to the preferences of the residents. Food is an incredibly important issue for the elderly. Therefore, we are constantly seeking our residents’ input into menu selections while at the same time always striving to maintain balance and good health by using fresh fruits, meats & vegetables.
Do you have activities for the residents?
Yes, all of our homes offer invigorating and entertaining activities that are tailored to the residents desires, including chair yoga, bean bag toss, swimming and water aerobics. We also bring in a professional artist and musician twice per month for classes, singing, and dancing! .
Are you governed by any state or local agency?
Yes, our home is licensed by The Arizona Department of Health Services for a maximum of 10 residents.
Do your homes have open visiting hours?
Yes, please come visit whenever and as much as you would like. We only request that “normal” quiet hours are observed out of respect for the other house residents.
Are residents allowed to bring their own furniture and furnishings? Hang pictures on the walls?
Yes, we strongly encourage it! Our home IS their home, and we want them to feel as comfortable as possible. But of course, if you need us to provide furniture, we will take care of it.
Can residents bring their pets?
Yes, they may and we love the energy that an animal brings to our homes! Please note that all animals will need to be approved with management before move-in and factors such as other resident’s allergies and pet demeanor will be taken into account before granting approval.
Do all of your rooms have cable and telephone outlets?
Cable, yes. Telephone, no, but can be added at residents’ expense.
Do you have 24 hour awake staff?
Yes, we have 24 hour awake staff who are able to meet the needs of our residents. Though our goal is to function like a home by keeping it quiet at night, we do maintain 24 hour awake staff.
